Design Review
Mission Statement
Review proposed building plans for conformance with Grizzly Ranch Design Review Guidelines for members who are building new homes or making additions or color changes to existing structures in Grizzly Ranch.
Goals
To work hand-in-hand with members of the community on there building projects throughout the year. Provide timely feedback to members in accordance with guidelines.
Homecoming
Mission Statement
To connect the Grizzly Ranch community with Grizzly Ranch Golf, Outdoor Activity Committee and Firewise through an annual celebration of a weekend of fun events during Mountain Homecoming for all members and guests.
Goals
Orchestrate the annual Mountain Homecoming event to be held yearly every August.. Schedule a members’ golf event, members’ dinner with entertainment, and assorted activities, followed by a Firewise event the following day.
Make the day memorable for all the members and their guests in Grizzly Ranch.
Firewise
Mission Statement
Insure annual Firewise USA recognition by developing and updating an action plan, conducting annual educational outreach, tracking community ‘Risk Reduction Investment’, and completing the annual application. Promote Firewise activities such as community hazardous fuel standards and reduction projects, homeowner defensible space and home hardening education, and emergency evacuation preparedness.
Goals
Organize 2 dates for the Grizzly Ranch community chipping program. Organize a community clean-up day to remove hazardous fuels within the community. Work with members of the community to remove hazardous fuels within 10’ of all Grizzly Ranch roadways. Conduct a Firewise educational day for Grizzly Ranch members with the assistance of Beckwourth Fire Department and the Grizzly Ranch Forest Service.
Communications
Mission Statement
Communicate the high quality of living that Grizzly Ranch offers through our website GrizzlyRanchLiving.com and provide all owners in Grizzly Ranch information of interest to the community through periodic newsletters.
Goals
Continue to update the Grizzly Ranch website: GrizzlyRanchLiving.com as needed. Produce to produce 2-3 newsletters per year.
Landscaping
Mission Statement
Beautify our Grizzly Ranch Community to enhance the natural landscape while holding to “Fire-wise” guidelines, considering water conservation and operating within set budgets.
Goals
Mulch all the beds, islands and around the Outpost, Sales Office and Gatehouse buildings in 2023. Renovate the landscaping around the Sales Office and Gate House. Clean up the monument areas within Grizzly Ranch.
Finance
Mission Statement
The Finance Committee oversees the Association's Reserves and the assets that compose the community’s infrastructure (buildings, furniture, golf cart bridge, roads, pond and equipment), with the intent of making sound and prudent financial decisions. The committee invests the Association's funds in investments that consist of relatively low beta factors, therefore, limiting our exposure in the financial markets.
Goals
Reserves funded to 65% by year’s end of 2024
Currently funded at 56.1%. The goal is to get to 65% by the end of 2024. this is up from 45.7% in 2021.
Be in a sound financial position by 2028 when we plan to incur a major road expense.
Design a strong investment strategy for our funds.
The Committee meets 2 times a year – February or March and in August.
Internet
Mission Statement
This committee researches and evaluates various options for installing and/or improving internet service in Grizzly Ranch, including fiber optic cabling and various wireless services (including satellite services such as Starlink).
Goals
To research and evaluate the feasibility of fiber optic cabling and service, including existing conduit piping and possible cabling installation in Grizzly Ranch. Encourage Plumas Sierra Telecommunications to focus on the need, costs and implementation of fiber optic service in Grizzly Ranch. Research, evaluate and collect information on the Starlink satellite project, and experiences with it in Grizzly Ranch and elsewhere. Research, evaluate and collect information on other wireless internet options that are now or may become available. Provide periodic reports to the Grizzly Ranch community on our findings and prospects for improved internet service.
Hiking
Mission Statement
The Hiking Committee oversees the upkeep of the hiking trails in Grizzly Ranch.
Goals
Survey the membership in Grizzly Ranch to see what activities are appealing to the members of Grizzly Ranch.
Work with the Communication Committee to publish our activities in the Newsletter. Work with the Mountain Homecoming Committee to coordinate activities around Homecoming weekend.
Create activities for all age groups.
